World Health Assembly Resolution 49.15, adopted in 1996, calls for measures: "to ensure that the financial support for professionals working in infant and young child health does not create conflicts of interest."

Member organisations are encouraged to publish their policies on accepting sponsorship and these are being added to this site.

Member Organisations's sponsorship policies/funding guidelines

baby milk action, (secretariat): Accepts no commercial funding

breastfeeding network: "The Breastfeeding Network will not enter into any relationship with any person, company or association with a commercial interest in infant feeding, even if they are not covered in the Code and Resolutions." Full guidance document available on the bfn website.

national childbrith trust: "Excluded from sponsorship: Formula milk manufacturers and follow-on milk manufacturers... Bottle and teat manufacturers, where the brand name is primarily associated with
bottles and teats."

royal college of nurses: "When weighing up whether or not to accept funding from commercial organisations, grant making bodies or individuals, the following should be considered: the nature/ public perception of the organisation or individual; if a commercial organisation, the nature of its products, the means used to promote the product or the consequences of these processes should be considered."
